Job Summary:
The Assistant Headteacher supports the Headteacher in providing strategic leadership and management within the school. This role includes assisting with the development, implementation, and monitoring of the school’s vision, policies, and educational programs. The Assistant Headteacher also plays a crucial role in driving improvements in teaching, learning, and student achievement, as well as supporting staff development, managing day-to-day operations, and fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership and School Improvement
- Collaborate with the Headteacher and senior leadership team to develop and implement the school’s strategic goals.
- Assist in creating, evaluating, and improving policies and practices to raise educational standards.
- Lead specific school improvement initiatives and ensure alignment with the school’s vision and values.
- Analyse school data to monitor student progress, identify areas for development, and inform decision-making.
- Play a key role in school self-evaluation and improvement planning.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Experience: Significant teaching experience, preferably with leadership or management responsibilities in a school setting. Prior experience in leading school improvement initiatives or specialised programs is highly desirable.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of curriculum development, assessment methods, educational standards, and best practices in teaching and learning.
